What Usually Goes Wrong

Slipped and missing tiles

One gap in the covering is all the weather needs, and wind lifts neighbouring tiles once a slot opens up.

The fix Tiles refixed or matched and replaced, and the surrounding courses checked while we are up there.

Leaks you cannot trace

Water rarely drips where it gets in. It runs along felt and timbers first, so the stain on the ceiling is only the end of the story.

The fix We find the actual point of entry and fix the cause, not just the symptom.

Failed felt and rotten boards

Old mineral felt cracks and ponds, and the decking underneath quietly rots.

The fix Decking replaced, new felt laid with proper edges and lead dressed into the wall, watertight again.

Roofing: Common Questions

Can you fix a leak without replacing the whole roof?

Usually, yes. Most leaks we get called to are a slipped tile, a failed ridge or flashing, or guttering. We find the actual cause first and tell you honestly if a repair will hold.

Do you work on chimneys?

Yes. Rebuilding stacks, re-flaunching, new pots and repointing.

How quickly can you come out for a leak?

As fast as we can get there. A roof letting water in is the one job we move other things around for.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. The site visit and the written quote are both free, and there is no obligation either way. If we think the job does not need doing, or needs doing differently, we will tell you that instead of quoting for it.

Do you want a deposit up front?

No deposit. You pay when the work is finished and you are happy with it. There is also a 14 day cooling off period as standard.

Which areas do you cover?

Morecambe, Heysham, Lancaster, Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands, Barrow-in-Furness and across to Kendal and the south Lakes. If you are just outside, ask anyway.
