What Usually Goes Wrong

Cracks let water behind the render, frost does the rest, and sheets of it eventually part company with the wall.

Bare brick and old porous finishes drink driving rain, and that moisture finds its way inside as damp patches.

Rendering & Plastering: Common Questions

How long does rendering a house take?

Most semis and terraces take about a week on site once the scaffold is up, depending on the weather and how much repair the walls need first.

Can you render over old render?

Sometimes, but only if what is underneath is sound. We tap the whole wall first. Rendering over hollow or blown render just moves the problem on a year or two, so where it has failed we take it off.

Do you do plastering inside as well?

Yes. Skimming, re-plastering and full room replastering as well as external rendering.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. The site visit and the written quote are both free, and there is no obligation either way. If we think the job does not need doing, or needs doing differently, we will tell you that instead of quoting for it.

Do you want a deposit up front?

No deposit. You pay when the work is finished and you are happy with it. There is also a 14 day cooling off period as standard.

Which areas do you cover?

Morecambe, Heysham, Lancaster, Carnforth, Bolton-le-Sands, Barrow-in-Furness and across to Kendal and the south Lakes. If you are just outside, ask anyway.
